The equities market is the reflection of our country’s economy. It is an avenue by which capital resources from individuals and institutions are channeled to businesses that fuel the economy. In most economies, the domestic participation in equities market is significant unlike in our country where there is very minimal participation versus our working population. Statistics show that no more than 1 million Filipinos are engaged in the stock market. This is despite the fact that our own Philippine Stock Market is one of the oldest in Asia established in 1927. More so, that our economy has been elevated to an investment grade status, how come not a lot are still investing in it?
